Getting ready for Chinese New Year

Today I did a bit of shopping.
For baking and for wearing.

Phoon Huat Supplies

Got some supplies - pineapple paste filling, ground peanut and fine corn polenta.
Chinese New Year is not too far away, so it's good to stock up on supplies now.
And I have to do a test batch soon to make sure the cookies turn out right.

Moving on...

Did a bit of shopping at Causeway Point.  Crowds are there enjoying the Post Christmas sales.
The decoration has been changed to accomodate the coming Chinese New Year.

It intends to give you the festive mood.

Bought this blouse because of its lace trimmings. Has a romantic feel right?

Shoes are so sweet, yes?

Hope everyone can have a good shopping experience.

Birthday celebration for Pam

Celebrated my friend's birthday at Gardens by the Bay, Pollen Restaurant.
We get together for each other's birthday. Today we had the Festive Lunch

Starters -
Squid, chestnut, scallop on chestnut paste afterwhich, a creamy broth was poured

My main dish a snapper on saffron mash - potato and gravy to go along. It also had squid alongside.
My dessert - coffee icecream with cognac and little bits of fruit served on a clay/stone.

Petit Fours - chewy cookie, lemon cream tart, banana cake, chocolate, and a toasted marshmellow on chocolate with our coffee
And finale - a little chocolate cupcake to celebrate (on the house)

Christmas celebration with family

Christmas is over and a New Year is coming... Many friends on facebook have celebrated Christmas with friends and food.  My family had a simple chinese dinner at Ocean Spoon Dining at the Yacht Club in Sembawang. Looking forward to 2013!
Breezy....

Egg Fu Yong - all time favourite since everyone can enjoy this and Herbal Chicken is fragrant and tasty!
